With the recent flurry of CRM 2011 rollup updates (revisions) that have been released it has become harder and harder to determine what features are available in a certain CRM environment just by looking at it.

In this blog I will show you how to find out which version you are running and how to determine your organization’s functionality.

Tip 1: Check your version

From a web browser, in the top left click ‘File’ > ‘Help’ > ‘About Microsoft Dynamics CRM’

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Rollups

This will open a pop-up box. In the top of this window is a version number that refers to a rollup once translated.

Note that the DB (database) number can reference a rollup lower than the CRM rollup. This implies that the CRM server installation was updated and the older database was compatible without requiring the update.

In Outlook this menu can be accessed from ‘File’ > ‘CRM’ > ‘About Microsoft Dynamics CRM’

From the deployment manager the version can be found right in the list of all organizations.
